Visit Portobello Road
We went to Portobello Road, which is an eclectic, fun neighborhood near Notting Hill Gate. It’s a very long street full of cool cafes and funky shops, all very unique. We did a lot of strolling down the street and people watching – just doing as the natives do, which is always fun and feels authentic. We found a very cool, low-profile cafe on Portobello Road, with a beautiful and private brick patio filled with roses. We drank tea and ate scones in what felt like a very private spot. We hung out in some pubs, which was a blast. We ordered pints, sat at the bar, and talked with some interesting people. We saved money by staying in a cheap hotel that included breakfast, and we weren’t too extravagant with the items that we bought there. Next time, I would go to Notting Hill Gate and check out all the cool outdoor vendors and people. I would also stay in a nicer hotel next time. In the hotel we stayed at, the room was the size of a postage stamp, and the food was pretty bad. I might hang out in SoHo more too; it’s a cool, trendy neighborhood.
